Information about the Perinatal Center


The Kyiv Perinatal Center is a III level medical and prophylactic institution providing the specialized, highly qualified medical care to pregnant women with obstetric and extragenital pathology, pregnant women and women in labour, newborns and gynecological patients. The Center applies modern perinatal technologies recommended by the World Health Organization.

Only highly qualified medical personnel conduct the pregnancy follow-up. The Department of Functional Diagnostics is provided with modern equipment, and its structure includes the office of medical and genetic counseling, the office of psychoprophylactic training and consultations with a hematologist. Patients get consultations on reproductive health, preconception, as well as early diagnosis of congenital malformations in the fetus. Pregnant women of the high-risk group are taken care of in the specialized maternity welfare center of the Perinatal Center. There are also clinical and bacteriological laboratories, performing all the necessary tests.

The Center has 15 modern individual and family-friendly delivery rooms, as well as the delivery room equipped for preterm labor, operating unit, Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care located on the same floor, which increases safety and quality of medical care. The high-end Department of Intensive Care and Resuscitation of Newborns is provided with modern devices for monitoring and maintenance of all vital functions of the organism. All this allows treating and nursing children born prematurely with a critically low weight, as well as newborns with perinatal pathologies. If necessary, patients are provided with counseling of a pediatric surgeon, ophthalmologist, cardiorheumatologist, neurosurgeon and other specialized doctors. The Perinatal Center has the only retina camera in Kyiv, due to which its specialists are able to conduct the early diagnosis of retinopathy in order to prevent blindness. We also conduct the hearing screening and early diagnosis of deafness in newborns.

The Department of the Second Stage Nursing of Preterm Infants provides intensive supervision and rehabilitation of newborns. Upon the discharge, children   undergo supervision in the follow-up study room and get consulted by a neurologist, ophthalmologist, psychologist, and neonatologists to the age of three.

Ethical code Perinatal Center


The Kyiv City Maternity Hospital No. 7 was established in March 1995 upon the reorganization of the Obstetric and Gynecological Hospital of the Regional Medical Association in the Moscow District into the Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 7.

The institution has undergone a number of reorganizations during the period of its existence:

In April 1996, the Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 7 was reorganized into the Center for Maternal and Child Health Protection “Pravoberezhie”. In December 1997, the Center for Maternal and Child Health Protection “Pravoberezhie” was reorganized into the Kyiv City Maternity Hospital No. 7.

On February 10, 2012, the Main Directorate of Health Protection of the Kyiv City State Administration adopted a decision to open a perinatal center on the basis of the Kyiv City Maternity Hospital No. 7.


Center for High-Quality Medical Care

In 2009, the Maternity Hospital No. 7 got the title “Center for High-Quality Medical Care” for significant achievements in the implementation of modern perinatal technologies recommended by the World Health Organization and introduced in Ukraine in the course of the project “Maternal and Child Health” with the financial support of the U.S. Agency for International Development in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.


Child-Friendly Hospital

In 2009, by the Extended Initiative of the World Health Organization and the UNICEF, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine awarded the Kyiv Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 7 with the title “Child-Friendly Hospital”.

In 2013 and 2017, the Kyiv Perinatal Center Successfully confirmed the status of “Child-Friendly Hospital”.


Management system in compliance ISO 9001

In December 2012, the Kyiv Perinatal Center passed the international certification audit of the quality management system in compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001, as well as the certification of compliance with the requirements of the national quality standard DSTU ISO 9001:2009. The audits were conducted by the leading certification body – Bureau Veritas Certification. We are proud to be the first perinatal center in Ukraine to receive international recognition in the field of high-quality medical services.


Clean and Patient-Safe Hospital

In August 2016, the Center received the title of the “Clean and Patient-Safe Hospital”.


Certificate of Accreditation

On April 12, 2018, the Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory of the Kiev Periotal Center received a “Certificate of Accreditation” issued by the National Agency for ACCREDITATIONS OF UKRAINE under the number 3М013 in accordance with the requirements of State Standard ENISO15189: 2015 (ENISO 15189: 2012, IDT) in the field of: hematological studies of venous and capillary blood, general clinical studies of urine, cerebrospinal fluid, urinary secretions, cytological studies of exfoliative material, biochemical studies of serum and plasma, immunological studies of human serum and whole blood.

November 19, 2018 Kiev Perinatal Center received an international certificate of compliance with ISO 9001:2015.

The ISO 9001:2015 certificate confirms the continuous adaptation of quality management to new conditions, both internal and external.

On the basis of the Perinatal Center, there are the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 1 of the Bogomolets National Medical University and the Department of Neonatology National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, which actively participate in scientific and practical, educational, municipal and state programs, collaborate with other medical institutions of Kyiv and Ukraine, as well as other states. Doctors constantly take part in conferences, training, and congresses. There is also a training center for continuous improvement of their professionalism.
